Strataca is an adventure like no other, the museum is 650 feet underground and run by tour times.
Tours run Tuesday – Saturday 9am – 3pm, and Sunday’s 12:45pm – 3pm.
The general tour – The Salt Blast Pass takes about 2-2.5 hours.
The last tour of the day is at 3pm, and closes at 5pm.
Reservations recommended! While walk-ins are welcome, they are not always guaranteed.
SALT BLAST PASS
WHAT'S INCLUDED
OUR MAIN TOUR – A full 2.5 hour, self guided, self paced tour, in the Salt Mines of Hutchinson that includes the Underground Museum Galleries, 30 minute Dark Ride & 15 minute Train Ride.

WHAT'S INCLUDED
A combination of the Salt Blast Pass (our main 2.5 hour tour), plus a guided 1 hour Salt Safari Shuttle, where you’ll venture further into the raw mine experiencing a thrilling subterranean quest unlike anything you’ve seen before!
3+ hour tour that includes the Underground Museum Galleries, 30 Minute Dark Ride, 15 minute Train Ride, 1 hour Salt Safari Shuttle.

Lantern Tour
WHAT'S INCLUDED
1-Hour, 1-Mile hike with only a lantern to light the way, you’ll journey along the original rail bed & follow the tracks of miners long ago.
Add on for $12!
Ages 13+
*Children must be 13 years of age or older to take the Lantern Tour.
- To hike the Lantern Tour, it will require you to have the physical endurance to withstand the 1 – mile trek, as well as step over items at least a foot off the ground.
- Guests will be required to have sturdy, closed toe shoes. No sandals, flip-flops, Hey Dudes or Crocs, etc.
- Not handicap accessible.
- All guests will be required to sign a waiver.

ASTC PASSPORT PROGRAM
Strataca is a proud member of the Association of Science and Technology Centers Passport Program.
If you are a member of a science center or museum participating in the ASTC Passport Program, you are eligible for benefits such as free general admission when you travel outside of your local area. Exclusions apply and benefits vary.
Participating reciprocal guests visiting Strataca receive complimentary admission to the underground museum galleries, this does not include the train ride, dark ride, salt safari, or additional tours.
***Rides can be purchased for an additional fee.
The science center or museum you are visiting is not located within 90 miles of either your home residence and the science center or museum that you belong to.
Reciprocal guests visiting Strataca must show proof of residency and their member card at check-in.
