SCOUT ADVENTURES
Strataca offers two unique underground experiences that have become extremely popular with visiting Scout troops. Both experiences provide opportunities for Scouts to learn about the history and geology of the mine and the surrounding area. Scouts will also have the opportunity to explore the mine’s underground tunnels and chambers, and participate in hands-on activities that will help them learn about the mining process and the important role it played in the development of our country. Reservations are required for both experiences, and each experience is available for Scouts ages 10-18.
Scout Adventure Day Program
Venture underground on a scavenger hunt to earn your mining or geology merit badge. Lunch is included. Reservations are required.
October 12th; Check in at 9am, Check out at 3pm.
November 23rd; Check in at 9am, Check out at 3pm.
Double Merit Badge Overnight
Bring your troop to Hutchinson, Kansas, for an unforgettable journey underground. Your scouts will explore the caverns and learn about the history and geology of salt mining. They’ll earn their Mining and Geology merit badges, and dinner is included!

Scout Information
- Scouts must be 10-18 years of age.
- Reservations are required, with a signed contract/deposit due two weeks after the reservation is made.
- 1 Adult is require for every 5 scouts.
- Maximum capacity for the Day Program is 28 guests. Maximum capacity for the Double Merit Overnight is 100, with troops combined, a minimum of 50 is required to host the overnight.
- Packing instructions, required equipment, and arrival times will be sent to the Scout Master who makes the reservations.

Cost for Merit Badge Overnight is $50 per scout and $50 per adult chaperone, includes lunch.

Cost for DOUBLE Merit Badge Overnight is $95 per scout and $60 per adult chaperone, includes an evening meal.
